The baby and the monkey

April 29th, 2010

Probably the funniest spectacle I’ve ever witnessed is the time my girlfriend started doing baby and monkey impersonations on the street out of sheer boredom. We had spent the whole weekend at primarily because I wanted to catch all the sports possible. I had been deprived for a long time and decided to put my foot down this time. The only thing that I would even consider was going out for a walk much to her chagrin. All she wanted to do was drive to the mall. So out of pure rebellion she waited until we were on the busiest streets before she brought out the baby and monkey act. Although embarrassed at first, I couldn’t stop myself from laughing later on.

The things we do for love

April 25th, 2010

I spent the better part of last week travelling. My girlfriend had to go to universities ostensibly to attend interviews for medical schools. Her parents don’t know that she doesn’t have the grades and won’t graduate in time to go to medical school this year. So I had to pack my bags and travel to London, Kingston and Ottawa within a period of five days just to spend a few hours with her each time. She thinks that it’s romantic but my aching body suggests otherwise. I mean there is only so much of sleeping in visitor’s lounges and travelling by greyhound buses that one can take.

Hole in the pocket

I have spent a lot of money on a variety of things put together but I suppose I spent the money on my girlfriend’s twenty second birthday where I splurged on a necklace that burned a hole in my pocket. Three hundred dollars may not seem a lot to a lot of people but for me that is three fourths of my rent. My budget was set at 150 dollars but I ended up being suckered into that was double the cost. The up side was that she liked it. The down side was that she didn’t want it and told me to return it and get her something cheaper. What was worse than that was that I had lost the receipt.  I should have just bought her some quality beer accessories instead, and maybe everything would have turned out better!

You had a fast car…

April 18th, 2010

Of course it has to be a Ferrari! I grew up following the exploits of the great Michael Schumacher. A Ferrari always got you the looks and if the movies were anything to go by, the women. In the movie ‘Scent of a Woman,’ a blind among Al Pacino’s list of things to do before he blew his brains out was: to drive a Ferrari. The sleek red exterior and the speed that can be generated with this machine is what draws me to it the most. However, I do believe that I might be too much in awe of this machine to even begin to dream about getting behind the wheel.
