If I had a million dollars to give to charity, I’d go on DonorsChoose.org and complete ten thousand projects. America has been falling behind the rest of the world, both in industry as well as how educated our population is, and I believe that ensuring that schoolchildren have the best teaching supplies and opportunities will help us to regain our position as a world leading country. What I’ve learned over the past year is that just a little bit of money can make a big difference, and DonorsChoose.org makes it possible for small amounts to improve the lives of students and teachers – and hopefully for many years.

Prioritizing America’s Kids
February 24th, 2011My Shadow of a Car
February 21st, 2011This year I’ll celebrate the 9th birthday of my car. I drive a Toyota Camry, like many many people in America. There are many things to like about it: it’s pretty safe, gets great mileage, and has lots of room for people and trunk space. It also is a shadowy gray color which seems to elude cops from pulling me over. The only negatives are that people who are parking also don’t tend to see it, and so my trusty Camry has a few dents in the bumper from people who drove into it while it was parked.
Tropical Paradise
February 17th, 2011Tomorrow, when I win the lottery jackpot, I’ll probably just stay where I am. I’d like to think I’d actually own a real house with a yard then, though in the same city. I would say that living in the Bay Area has many pluses, and there’s few reasons to move away. The beach is right here (though sometimes cold), and snow is 5-6 hours away. If you want to go to the casino, that’s not too far away, and wine country is a short drive away. Even LA is 6 hours, and Vegas is a 2 hour flight. It’s pretty easy to understand why lots of people love living in the SF Bay Area.
Flygirl
February 15th, 2011If I could be a superhero, I would be called something like Flygirl and have the power to fly at whim, without one of those silly capes that tend to get caught on things. I’d love to be able to take a quick jump off my balcony and fly through the air to visit friends, run errands, and travel all over the world. This would be a huge timesaver as I never would have to worry about traffic or that buses never seem to run on time. No need for crime fighting or showing ordinary people that they are less worthy. I’d be happy to just have my super power and occasionally help someone who could use a lift.
