Given the choice of visiting any country for free, I’d choose North America. I’ve only previously seen the East Coast, and it just strikes me as such a diverse society. I’d hire a convertible 1965 Mustang, and drive from state to state. I’d stay in the motels I’ve seen in films, and I’d have coffee and pancakes for breakfast at diners. I’d document the entire trip with film, photographs and diary entries. Being alone wouldn’t be a problem, I’d try to talk to everyone I meet. I’d buy tacky souvenirs from each state and not waste money on luxuries, although I would like to drink with the people I see. I wouldn’t want to stay in one place for too long as there’s far too much to see to waste any time.

If I had learnt that I had one hour to spend on Earth as I know it, I’d like to think I’d do something for someone else, whether it be comforting them or just spending time with them. I would never do anything destructive – I wouldn’t want to hurt anyone else, who am I to take that away from them? If it were possible, I’d listen to the Kinks or the Rolling Stones whilst I accept what’s happening. I’d spend the time in London, on the Southbank watching the Thames flow by. I would speak to anyone near, or call my family and friends, just to try to make that connection with someone for the last time.
